But what do you do there?

I live in a small town; a very small town.  A town in which you only need one of everything except maybe fast food chains and mobile phone stores.  When  I meet people they ask me  " But what do you  do there?"   I usually answer by saying that I could find things to  do  in  a cave or  that smart people never get bored. However, I am alive to the fact that  very little is known about Polokwane.  Even though Polokwane is also featured on the weather forecast on the national news a lot of people like to claim that  they don't  know where it is. I take it though  that they plead ignorance to reinforce my town's insignificance in their eyes because the alternative really is pathetic.

Nonetheless, this last weekend was a rather busy one that awakened me to the possibility of blogging about  my town.  On the 28th of  March  I woke up to an extraordinary Saturday in Polokwane full of options.  There was lots to do.  It looked something like this:

06:00   Mall of the North Marathon  OR Endometriosis Awareness Walk

11:00    Civic Centre Flea Market  OR PopUp shop at the Farmyard  (followed by long lazy lunch)

18:00   Jazz at Ambiance Restaurant OR Belly Dancing Hafla

And later:  Mafikizolo   OR out on the town and staying up really late

And even later  : going home OR reliving university nights

I chose all the second options. All  this was available to me to do on Saturday  which was a  treat because  I don't usually have  this many options. On a day that I usually spend on naps I was quite literally sleepless in Polokwane.

ENDO WARRIORS DOING IT IN POLOKWANE
